Depending on whether you are a fattoush lover or new to the middle eastern food scene, these places will either be a staple or a way to ease you into it!
There is so much amazing food & restaurants to be discovered but here are three of our favourites:
Shaku Maku - Rathmines
Shaku Maku is roughly translated to: ‘What’s the story? Opened last year, a Middle Eastern diner, serving traditional dishes cooked according to age-honoured recipes and techniques.
Serving Middle Eastern soul food, with a focus on a warm, fun & inviting dining space to enjoy the best fresh ingredients from locally sourced suppliers. 100% Palestinian owned & halal.
There is also a beautiful terrace out back, perfect for their shisha bar and sweets menu.
Their menu consists of all the all time favourites but we recommend the arayes, hummus, fattoush salad & all of the foods from their jasper grill.
From the sweets menu we recommend everything but especially their kanafeh.
Situated in the heart of Rathmines, Dublin 6, Ireland
Rotana - Portobello/Rotunda
Rotana Cafe was opened in May 2008 by Mohammed Abuissa and has gone on to become one of Dublin’s most popular Lebanese restaurants. With a lot of awards in the past, there is no doubt in their cuisine.
Rotana Cafe has been serving some of the best authentic Lebanese food in Dublin since it’s opening and is now well known in the city for its delicious falafel and homemade baklava sweets. Everything served at Rotana Cafe is fresh, exciting and reasonably priced and is just the right spot to try something different.
In this casual and friendly atmosphere you can relax and enjoy some traditional Lebanese food and music and smoke a flavoured shisha in the outside terrace.
We recommend the Mezze Platter (perfect for sharing with your friends), Rotana Mix Charcoal BBQ & their Cardamom Chai or Lebanese Coffee with Baklawa to finish on a sweet note.
Visit Rotana at two locations in Dublin:
31 Richmond Street, Portobello, Dublin 2, Ireland &

This restaurant, may not be as fancy as the rest but it is the most authentic Persian food you will be able to find in Dublin. They offer a wide variety of traditional Persian dishes, all of which are made with the freshest ingredients and cooked to perfection. Their recipes are passed down from generation to generation and are sure to satisfy your taste buds.
We 100% recommend all of the Kebab dishes (no matter which combination you choose you won't go wrong), Grilled Sea Bass & their amazing Naan Bread.
